restaurants
We'll tell you about three restaurants that we particularly like, but our tastes are necessarily subjective.
La petite école:
This restaurant is located in a former municipal school and is approximately 35 km south of the gîte.
Housed in a former hotel near the train station in Issoire, it is located about 20 minutes from the cottage. You can dine outside on a terrace adjoining the town park.
L'avenue: A restaurant located in the medieval quarter of Clermont-Ferrand, near the cathedral. Probably the best restaurant in the city without being excessively expensive.
Local wines
Auvergne has a small vineyard that has been recognized as an AOP for several years. We enjoy the wines from the St Verny winery.
